Travels: Part 1

Monday May 14th
Hello everyone! I am now in London, England! Hampstead, to be exact, and I am just rounding up the end of the first leg of my hiatus vacation!

London has been brilliant! I can feel myself picking up a British accent in just the 4 days I have been here. I am such a sponge it is silly…

I started my trip on the most incredible first class flight on Virgin Air. It was so amazing! I felt as though I had stepped into an Austin Powers private jet with a full bar, seats that reclined all the way back with a feather comforter, and gorgeous stewards all dressed in bright red and purple! It was fab!

My friend, Sarah, joined me on the trip, and we had such a wonderful time playing with all the things on the plane. After we had been in the air for a few hours Sarah suggested that we grab some champagne at the bar. When we walked up, we met the most wonderful man named Mickey, from East London. We started chatting and it turns out that he does the lighting design for a bunch of rock shows all over the world. He asked us if we like Pink Floyd, and Sarah and I both looked at him and said “YES!”….and so it was done! We officially had plans with Mickey for dinner and a rock show… all this before we even started over the Atlantic. I spent the rest of the flight sleeping and gearing up for the fabulous weekend ahead!

When we landed, we were met by the fabulous Ben Brown. Ben was our driver for the day and was so so lovely. The only problem was that he wasn’t from London, so we had to rely on a GPS system to get us where we needed to go. This posed a bit of a problem and we ended up driving around London for about 3 hours before we finally found where we were headed. No worries, though! We were still just thrilled to be on the ground in the UK. So, we threw on some make up, deodorant, and new jeans and headed out to a fantastic dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Zuma’s, followed by the most amazing show at Earl’s Court, complete with VIP seats and tickets to the VIP lounge! We stayed until I thought I would fall over and then jumped in the car and headed up to Coventry where the convention was to begin at 8:30 the next morning.

I rushed to bed as soon as I could and woke up about 3 hours later feeling a bit refreshed and ready for the day. We were staying in an old Abbey called Coombes Abbey. It was this stunning old medieval Abbey that was surrounded by the most beautiful gardens and ponds. When I jumped on the bus, I joined Jenson Ackles, Brooke Nevin, Alan Ritchson, Alona Tal, and a few other fabulous actors for a weekend of fun with the fans. The actual convention was fantastic!! I sang twice and felt so incredibly loved by all the wonderful fans that were there! It is always so nice to be able to meet and see the people who are responsible for making the show a success. After two days of shaking hands and signing autographs, I was quite exhausted and ready for round two of the fantastic first class trip home.

Tuesday May 15th:
I met up with my friend Sarah in a gorgeous area of London called Hampstead Heath, and we had about 12 hours with some friends before our flight took off on Monday. On the way home, I watched 3 movies, all fantastic, and tried my best to sleep. My internal clock is so off, I don’t know which way is up… and now, I am in LA!

I’m spending time with the family and getting some things sorted out before the next leg of my adventure! I hope you all are doing beautifully and I hope you enjoyed watching Noir as much as we enjoyed shooting it! Have fun with the season finale! It’s a wet one!

Talk to you in a few days!

Ciao,
Allison

It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the trip to the UK. I would have loved to be at the convention and hear all those wonderful people speak. If only there was a transcript of the thing…that would be fantastic! You sing beautifully by the way. They should give you a singing scene on Smallville. Well, I guess another singing scene. There was the karaoke in season 4.

P.S. I loved Noir :) . You were so good; you reminded me of Jean Arthur. How did you prepare for this episode?

    Bye!

    Dear Allison,

Glad to hear you had a great time with your friends in London up to Coventry and back again, even though the weather here hasn’t been the best lately (it doesn’t rain all the time…really!!).

Flying first class sounds great, especially the reclining seats and champaigne.

Have a good time recharging your batteries and catching up with your family and look forward to reading your future adventures on your travels over the next month.

GAWD BLIMEY ALLISON..haha just tying to imagine you and your friends speaking with a London accent, which by the way when I traveled to LA people had a hard time understanding!!

Have fun and take care on your travels!

I’m glad you had such a great time in London and that you could share it with a good friend.

You looked gorgeous at the convention. I like your style because you never overdo it. You wear fashionable outfits, awesome earrings and little make-up. I like you current hairstyle.

You have an amazing voice. I hope you’ll get into singing more and record an album some day.

Enjoy your time with your family in LA.

I wish you a vacation full of laughter, surprises and fun.

    Allison,

Glad to hear your trip to England was a fun one!
I love how you try to meet people everywhere you go. Very fun.
My friends and I do that when we travel, too, and it’s so interesting to get to meet people, if only for an instant.

I’m glad you had a great time meeting the fans and I’m sure they feel the same way about interacting with you.

I must say that I’m impressed with your ability to perform a cappella on demand. That’s not an easy thing to do and I think you have a wonderful voice!
I’d buy your album when it drops. :)

    “Noir” was great!
I’ve always contended that you are a fantastic actress, but that episode just hit that back home for me because you really captured the 1940′s fast-talking dame. All of your inflections were spot on and every time I see that wink at Jimmy right before Chloe runs into Clark, I smile because that’s the kind of stuff you can’t teach.

Have fun livin’ it up on your trip!

Good to read that you are having a great time Allison. I wish I could have gone to that convention. The people that did go had the most wonderful things to say about you.

Also, you have a beautiful voice! I would really love it if you recorded something or maybe Smallville can have a musical episode. hee!

lol – Getting lost and driving around in circles for hours is an obligatory part of any trip to London. Alternatively, knowing where you are and being held up in traffic for hours.

I’m glad you had a good time here, anyway! I wish I could have been there to hear you sing in person.

I heard about “the coffee lounge.” I didn’t think I had a jealous bone in my body but I guess I need to do some of the self-exploration that Allison has suggested. Just the thought of being in a group of 20 people with Allison made me so jealous of those that had the priviledge. I had 45 seconds of Michael Rosenbaum’s undivided attention and that’s something that no one can take away from me. I was totally prepared to make the trek to Metropolis, Illinois for hours of waiting for moments of Allison’s time, but England was a little too far for me. Maybe in 50 years when the are dedicating a statue of Allison next to Noel Neill’s in Metropolis, someone will wheel me out to meet her.

    Hi Allison

Glad to hear you had such a good time in England. I’m so dissapointed that I didn’t know about the convention as I would have definitely gone as Coventry is only a couple of hours from where I live.

I laughed so much at your accent comment, I’m from the North of England and have a very distinct Northern accent but whenever I visit family in Kent, my accent instantly switches. I can hear myself sounding different and I’m thinking what???!!!! LOL! I even do it over the phone, its just something I can’t help!

And yeah getting lost in London is a given and no amount of planning seems to help. The driving is crazy too, it’s literally every man for himself.

I absolutely loved your singing. I had no idea that you had such an amazing voice. I would love to hear to hear you sing more. Hint! Hint!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your rest. Looking forward to the next update.

Glad you had a wonderful time at the convention. I’ve heard nothing but lovely comments from fans that meet you.

Loved the clip of you singing. The two other clips of you singing (Opposite Sex & Pariah) were more playful, but i loved them the same.

I’d definitely love to hear more of your singing. Maybe a Smallville musical episode? Buffy did it, why can’t Smallville? ;)

Noir was wonderful. The 1940s scene with Clark was AWESOME, a very iconic superman moment and I’m glad it was with Chloe. Plus the catch was WONDERFUL, I guess that’s an okay replacement for no kiss this season. Noir was the season ender for me, so thanks for you awesome performance (I won’t be watching the finale out of protest, Chloe should not be marginalized for anyone!).

LOVED your singing! When does the album come out? :)

Lastly, and off topic – can you PLEASE talk to Beeman about joining the cast of Heroes!!!!??? Chloe’s the only reason I watch Smallville anymore, but changing her from reporter to freak just so Lois can supplant her has become far too painful to watch. TALK to him, he loves you and you know it :) ! You could play an even more amazing hero than Chloe already is!

    Hi Allison

Glad to hear you have had a wonderful start to the Hiatus. Must be exciting to go home and spend time with the family. I have spent the last 18 months working in 2 different cities and just moved back home for a new job. It’s a simple to joy to finish work and go spend time with friends and family. You don’t truly appreciate them until, they are not around 24/7.

Would like to hear that “accent” of yours! I am terrible for slipping into a new accent when I travel. My worry is that people think I am taking the “mick”. ha ha

Anyway it looks like you had a good time at the convention. All the feedback from the fans has been brilliant. You are so good to us fans.

Oh and the singing – impressive to say the least. You have all round talent. It would be great to hear some more. Can you name the songs you were singing?

Take care and enjoy the summer

Wow, a major Pink Floyd fan, I have been a fan of them for ages. To bad they pretty much will not get together again, and last time they were in Hawaii was the early 70′s. I have never saw them live. :(

Speaking of music, I loved the music that’s being played here by Madeleine Peyroux that I purchased the album via Amazon. She sings great and it’s very calming to the soul. So glad you are enjoying London and your singing is just wonderful.

Wow. I just found out that Erica Durance will be at the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois this year. She joins Helen Slater and another Lois Lane (Noel Neill). As much as I appreciate her work, I probably won’t do the 800 mile drive each way and stand in the sun for 8 hours to see her. I did it for John Schneider and Michael Rosenbaum … and I would do it for John Glover because of his outstanding work reading Steven King books onto audio tape for visually impaired people … but Erica, Ton and even Kristin … no. I might do it for Roger the Cart Goon (old buddy, old pal!). I’ve never written stories for Lois and Lana is almost alway extremely mean in my stories (no reflection Kristin but I would be embarassed to talk to her because of it — it’s too fun to write her that way). And I made a woman out of Tom and I doubt he’d appreciate that.

But, if you read this one Allison, warn Erica to take care in Metropolis. Their security and planning seems to be a joke. The celebrity gets about an hour to sign a couple thousand autographs then the line forms again and it starts all over. I am surprised there hasn’t been a minor riot. Two years ago, a TV crew came in and took up a good portion of the time allocated to the 2nd autograph session with John Schneider. Last year, about half the people were about to be turned away and rather than just leave like the planners of the event expected him to, Michael Rosenbaum walked down the long line of fans that was to be turned away and said “hi” and shook hands.

So, I’ll see you in Metropolis when they put up that statue of you in fifty years — after a 10 season run of the “Smallville” remake starring you as Martha Kent. I do have a crystal ball and I can read between the cracks in it.

    Take Care,

    David

It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Every blog I’ve read written by someone that was at the convention has wonderful things to say about meeting you–so you also gave a much pleasure to many fans.

Your song was beautiful, and it was a brave thing to do–singing a capella! I loved the song, it’s not one I’m familiar with.

I know what you mean about accents. I work the front desk of a motel, and even in my Montana town, we get quite a few international visitors. I usually start with their accent before I’m even finished checking them in. One of my favorite international visitor memories involves a very quiet New Year’s Day. I got to spend much of my shift talking to 20 people that were traveling in a huge group–from Australia! We had a great time. My son had been to Australia, so I could ask reasonably intelligent questions, and help them explore my home state, too. Meeting people from other places is always interesting! Even when I only travel as far as the front desk at work.

I hope the rest of hiatus is as much fun as this first bit has been. Thank you for checking in–I’ve become used to ‘chatting’ and find myself checking in during the week! Save travels & great adventures!

Hi, Allison. You don’t know me, but I’m so glad we’re getting a glimpse of your life. I’ve had a terrible day. Two very sick dogs with no money to take them to the vet. A 2-year-old, need I say more? Bouts with the usual panic attacks/depression, up and down all day. No food for dinner. (Edit: We scratched up enough change for a frozen pizza.)

It was a delight to hear you sing, though it made me think of my paralyzed vocal cord, and how badly I wanted to join you.

Pity party? Yes. But you made me remember my dreams and why I can’t give up on them. I long to travel and experience life outside this tiny apartment. Before the brain tumor mess, I did spend time out of the country, and it enriched my life beyond words. I know you understand this, and I bless you on your way to fill your heart to overflowing. This summer, live life for all of us who can’t be with you.

Spread love and peace with that glowing smile of yours. Give your heart freely, and take in a deep breath with each experience.

    The time is now,
    Rhonda

I’m glad you’re having a great time on your hiatus. I’ve really enjoyed visiting your website and getting to “know” you (as much as you can get to know someone you’ve never met). You seem to be a very genuine, compassionate, intelligent, thoughtful person and sometimes reading your blog or seeing your smiling face can be a breath of fresh air on an otherwise dreary day.

I have a bit of a confession to make: I’m a 32 year-old man “in love” with a fictional twenty-something named Chloe Sullivan! (Don’t tell anyone…I feel like such a dork. 32 year-old men aren’t supposed to watch super hero soap operas, but I can’t help it!).

Yeah, it’s not easy being in love with a fictional character: she never writes, she never calls…but then again, I always get to see her once a week and there are no abandonment issues for me to deal with. :)

There are all sorts of rumors flying about as to which major character is going to die in the Season 6 finale of Smallville. I hope it’s not Chloe! It’s obviously not going to be Clark or Lex, so my money and my hopes are on it being Lana and not Chloe. Perhaps Lana dying is the only way for Clark to emotionally let go of the past and move on to his future (Lois…or hopefully Chloe!).

Let’s face it, is there anyone who watches Smallville who doesn’t want to smack Clark on the back of the head, say “Snap out of it!” and make him realize how wonderful Chloe is? I realize that “the heart knows reasons that reason knows not” and you can’t make yourself love someone, but come on! Wake up, Clark!!

Okay, that’s my fanboy hysteria gone wild. I just want to finish by saying it’s rare and wonderful to find someone in this world who’s just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside and you seem to be the real deal. Keep up all the great work and I’m sure you’ll succeed in whatever you put your mind to!

Allison you are such the lucky girl! I would love to be able to travel in such luxery, well heck I would love to travel period. London has always been at the top of my travel list and I hope to make it there in the next five years. Soo glad you had fun at the convention, that’s what they should be for you actors as well as the fans there. So wish I could have been there but hopefully we will get to have a convention in the US in the future that I can attend, and you as well!

You have a lovely voice by the way, should definitley get them to work that into a scene sometime! :D Hope you have a good time with the family and on the rest of your travles, can’t wait to hear from you as you go!

–and really random but… my mom was watching Lifetime Movie Network the other night and yelled at me to come in. So I did and it was a movie, can’t remember the name sorry, with a young you in it. It was about a young girl who was raped and beaten by the school janitor who gets off for the charges and her mother shoots and kills him and then is on trial herself. Annette O’Tool is also in it. You did a fabulous job in it!!! But my perdicament is that it was *really* early in the morning when it was coming to a finish so I started to drift in and out of sleep, well to my dissapointement I did and I never found out if the mother got convicted!!!! I was so mad at myself, but my guess since it is a Lifetime movie she didn’t and all was well. But anyways you did amazing for your age there and wanted to comment on that.

    Enjoy your travels!!

I see you love your travels, it must give you such a great feeling being able to go and see the world! You should come to South Africa sometime, very different to the rest of the world!

I also wanted to become an actor, but my parents never really supported it. Sucks I know. It must take alot being an actor, I take my hat off to you! Especially the way you keep your feet firmly on the ground.

I’ve been here few years ago, a very bad memory. someone stole me some of my bags! :’(
In France, we had a breakdown last saturday on M6 (the french channel that airs Smallville), we had about the last 10 minutes of “Freak” and almost all the episode “Promise”, But they will be both aired again. “Freak”, this saturday and “Promise” next saturday.
all I hope for the season finale is that Chloe won’t die because I love her much more than Lana, and her secret astounded me, in a good way. Chloe’s friendship with Clark is one of my favorites things I love in Smallville.
I love Chloe and Bart, it is a relationship as adorable as she has with Jimmy. Take care, elodie

After seeing the season finale of “Smallville,” I decided I’d better post my do not resuscitate order here. I don’t want a tear shed on my behalf to cost the life of someone special. So I must say:

Don’t Cry For Me Chloe Sullivan

It won’t be easy, you’ll think it strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need you alive after my life is done

    You won’t believe me
All you will see is a guy you never knew
Although he’s annoyed a few times
On the blogs carefully written by you

I had to let it happen, I had to change
Couldn’t stay silent about all I feel
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun

    So I chose freedom
Writing some words, trying something quite new
But nothing impressed you at all
    I never expected it to

Don’t cry for me Chloe Sullivan
The truth is I always watched you
    All through my mild days
    My sad existence
    I kept my promise
    I kept my distance

And as misfortune is my claim to fame
    I never invited it in
Though it seemed to the world I got what I deserved

    There are solutions
But they all cost a price I am unwilling to pay
But an answer was here all the time
I love watching you and that’s enough for me

Don’t cry for me Chloe Sullivan!

Don’t cry for me Chloe Sullivan
The truth is I always watched you
    All through my mild days
    My sad existence
    I kept my promise
    I kept my distance

    I have said too much!
But there’s so much more I can think of to say to you.
But all you have to do is read what I wrote to know
That every word is true (more or less)

[based upon lyrics by Tim Rice]

What a wonderful presence you have brought to Smallville. I just finished watching the season Finale and although I am not sure who is going to be around next season, I wanted to say that I think out of all the characters, you have developed and expanded your character to someone we have grown to love and cherish. Chloe was the bridge for Clark Kent in many ways. Your character helps us understand a lot of questions between Clark’s early years and the super hero he becomes.
Thank You Allison !! Your biggest fan.

  81. Jonathan Roark Says:

Aaaarrrgggghhhhh!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE CHLOE IS DEAD!!!!

Is this how one of those crazy women who marries prison inmates feels when her husband gets shanked in Cell Block D? I mean, I know I only got to meet Chloe through the glass of my tv screen and I only had visitation night with her once a week, but she was my girl! I cannot believe they killed her. I’m sure they’ll try to do something lame like say some of her soul got into Lois and that’s one of the factors that leads to Clark and Lois eventually hooking up, but man… I just feel like it was totally unnecessary.

Your performance was beautiful, Allison…it was impossible not to feel both empathic and sympathetic to your character, but I get tired of the notion that great art can’t have a happy ending. Why not?!

Why is it that so many writers, directors, producers, etc. feel that a story has to end darkly in order to be taken seriously, in order to truly reflect life, or to be truly “artistic” (whatever that means)? Yeah, I get it, life’s not always fair or upbeat and art should reflect that, not hide it, but I sometimes think that creative artists lose sight of just exactly what it is they’re trying to accomplish.

It’s like the movie “Dodgeball.” Did you know that the screenwriter originally intended for the Average Joe’s to lose at the end in a totally non-humorous, supposedly “true-to-life” ending and that for a while he even threatened to leave the picture if it didn’t stay true to that ending. That’s silly! It’s a comedy! Is the purpose of a comedy to make your life a little brighter until it gets to the end only to pull the rug out from under your feet and make you go home sad? Of course not. Comedies are SUPPOSED to make you laugh and smile, not cry. While it’s true that Smallville is a drama, it’s also a fantasy, and killing Chloe was a grave error.

One of the reasons I loved Smallville was for the sheer escapism of it all. For an hour once a week I got to live in a world where good people who care about each other joined together to face and overcome overwhelming odds, and good actually triumphed over evil (though always with some cost). If I wanted to see people I cared about dying I’d simply turn on the news. I already know that life is hard and there aren’t always going to be happy endings–we all do. There’s not one of us out there who hasn’t lost a loved one, felt the agony of unrequited love, etc. I’m sure I can speak for the vast majority of Smallville fans when I say I didn’t tune into the show to watch someone I cared about–though fictional–get “murdered” in front of my eyes just so the producers could create “really great art”.

I think it’s pretty obvious how I and many others felt about Chloe, Allison. You should be proud that you helped create and mold a character that people truly cared about and that will be missed so much by so many. I may not be an actor or a director or really know anything at all about the “biz,” but I do know what I feel, and tonight I feel like I lost a friend. Seems to me like it would take a pretty great actor/actress to create such strong feelings in so many people, so congrats! I’m sure you’ll do well in whatever you pursue in the future. In the meantime, I think I’m done with Smallville…and if Harry dies this summer, I’m just going to drop out of society altogether and join a Buddhist Monastery! That’ll show them!! :) Just know that whatever you end up doing, your fans will be here rooting for you along the way.

In closing, I just wanted to share a couple of verses by Dylan Thomas with you. They deal with loss and seem very relevant to the topic. Hope you enjoy them.

“Though they sink through the sea,
    they shall rise again.

    Though lovers be lost,
    love shall not.”

Thanks again, Allison, for six great seasons! Jonathan Roark

Ok so i’m still in shock over the finale, please please tell me that this isn’t the end of the best Gal in Smallville! I am gonna be so upset if you aren’t back kicking ass in season 7! Seriously! How could they do that to you!? For a split second there I thought that Chloe had taken possessin of Lois’s body but I crashed back down to Earth. Anyways, changing subject slightly i’m so glad you enjoyed your trip to the UK :) and I Hope that you have loads of fun on the rest of your trips :) X

    Hey!!
    i just saw Phantom
    it was awsome..
    an incredible season finale
    as always ..
but is Choe never come back??

    is really sad
    is my favorite character
    and if she doesn’t comeback
i think a lot of people will stop seeing smallville
    i hope not..

    i love you work
i wish chloe never leave smallville
    ..
anyway.. i wish you he best
i envy your traveling a lot!!
    have a great time!
and yeah, Noir was really cool
    your hair was awsome haha

thanks for all the fun in all the season
    Smallville won’t be the same..
i think the essence of the show
was based on those 4 characters
and if one leaves is going to be weird..

    hugs!!

    God bless you

I have just read in the comments that chloes dies in the season finale!!!
It can’t be true!!!! It can’t be true!!
Maybe it’s like in the end of season 3, I think. We all thought she was dead and then she wasn’t!!

If Chloe isn’t really dead and is inside Lois, that sucks! I mean, it’s not that I don’t like Erica Durance, but come on!! You are soooo much better than her!!

I’m in shock!! Totally and completely-in-shock!!

    Hi Allison
I just finished watching the season Finale .
I liked the scene at the daily planet . Chloe and Clark reporters.
I did not like that chloe saved lois but then ends up being dead herself…what kind of power is that? but I liked the scene, your performance was amazing.

Fortunately , I remembered your precedent blog where you said :
I heard a rumor that the finale script was leaked, and everyone has very strong opinions regarding “the green tear.” Don’t worry guys, it will be cool… I won’t let you down.
I think that many fans do not remember your comment.
I also read in an interview of Alfreg Gough (last wednesday) that Chloe would be back in season 7.

I saw your pictures at London. You are beautiful and you have a splendid voice .

Have fun and take care on your travels!

I have already seen 6th season, even if in Italy it will be played only at the end of the year, and I must admit that I’m a little bit disappointed about Chlark relationship :P I’d love seeing them together, one day :D . Putting Smallville apart for a while, let me say that you have an amazing voice!!!!! I loved your photos! and I love the way you communicate with your fans. hope to see you in Italy soon!!!!

    Hey!

It’s been a long time but here I am once again. :)

I know you’ve definately heard this before but wow…your voice is amazing! lol
You should definately sing more often …or at least try and get to sing on Smallville for an episode like Erica did.
Like someone above mentioned a musical episode…like Buffy…THAT would be HILARIOUS! ;) If it’s not been put out there before by any of the team you reaaly should suggest it! I think it would be excellent! :)

But moving on to your holiday, I’m so glad to hear that you came to my neck of the woods! Good to hear that you liked London, even though, yes traffic there is a nightmare.
Hopefully next time you can stay for longer as there’s so much to see in lil old England…although I do understand there are lots of places you want to visit and in order to visit them all you can only spend so much time in one place.

I would love to hear your newly picked up accent! lol I’m not very good at picking up accents…at least I don’t believe I am but people always tell me anyway that I don’t really have an accent, which is weird because I have lived in London all my life…granted most of those concerned were also from other parts of England…but there you go. lol

Anyway continue to enjoy your travels…which you deserve and sorry for the mini essay!

PS. Hope you didn’t die in the season finale because you are excellent in it. 10/10 episode! :)

    Oi, Allison!!!!
I was so upset because I thought that you will not write in this blog for the time you are traveling, but now I am much more calm!!!
Then you already came back of the trip for England? I believe that really has been a beautiful trip. I must say that I am with a little of envy of the fact of you have travelled in the first class, full of luxuries, and such….. I also want to be able to make this one day! On what it occurred back in England, I imagine that must have been really cool to find fans in this “meeting ” between actors and fans (I am jealous of them), beyond you having left to have fun, this is always very nice. Unhappyly I cannot hear you singing because my computer is without sound, (I don’t obtain to hear nothing, this is so bad…) but for what the people had written, you sing very well. There was an episode where you sang, I find that was in “Pariah”, but for what I remember to me the experience was not very inspirating (I can be been deceptive…), because as I said my computer is dumb and I don’t have this episode in the computer. : (
You came back of the trip… Which will be its next destination? I am ansious for discover it! I didn’t see the season finale of “Smallville” yet, but I, unfortunally, saw that my favorite personage, Chloe, is dead!!!! This so horrible!!!! I hope she isn’t really dead…. we have to wait for the 7th season…. I would like to finish saying that this blog is so good for people like me, that is so distant from where you live, and don’t have the oportunity to have a “meeting” with you like had on England…
So, have a nice trip wherever you will go!!!! boa viagem!!!!
I am waiting for the next blog!!!!
    Sincerely,

*TOTAL SHOCKER times like a 1000 plus 1* i didnt know you could sing omg i thought that video was like a concert with you and your friend attending some sort of play or something then i read that it was you singing, wow girl you can sing really good ya smallville should give you a spot on there vol. 3 album(if they make another one) you should get like a record deal haha i’d buy it!!!!=)

Are you starting to adapt to L.A. time? Hope so, ’cause when I went to Hawaii and came back, I couldn’t sleep until like 2-4 in the morning for like a week! I eventually got used to the time. YAY! Well, I hope you’re having a blessed time with your family and friends! :) I love ya lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots!

It´s me, you brazilian fan again. It is interesting that you have been travelling because I have just dreamed of you last night, and you were here in Brasil, buying some religious art craft (it was a holy Mary statue, and you were asking me where it was from). What about come to Brasil in your next vacations?! In my city (Caruaru, Pernambuco), in the Northeast of the country, we have all the month of June parting the São João (Saint John´s). It is a really colorful, happy and popular celebration; and… surprise! It´s cold here this time! Not so cold as London, but you will probably need warm clothes. Consider come here in your next trip!
P.S.: I just loved the noir episode!

I must say, there is a musical rythm here in my region called “forró”. It was named like that, some say, because of the influence of English people who were here in the 19Th century: They used to called the parties which local people meet of “for all”(this is the close pronunciation of “forró”). Along the time, the natives adopted that name to those parties which everybody come together, dancing with the sound of “forró”in couples and having fun all night long.

Well, the farthest that I could remember viewing you, is in the film: Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves! Talk about old school! Hahaha! ;>P (My smiley: winking and tongue sticking out!)

Anyway, I’m so pleased to hear that your trip to U.K. went fantastic! You’re so right about the British accent; it is very catchy!

    Moreover, I was so thrilled in the season finale! If you’re supposedly “dead” in Smallville, I will cry! You’re the show, and don’t let anyone tell you different! {Laughs!} I mean it! I’m assuming that you were in shock, because, well, you finally know what your “powers” are, which is so rad. Well, I better not say anymore. {Shuts my opinion … }

Well, have a spectacular time kicking back and enjoying life with your family and friends! I will remember to check your blog, once a week, at least. Have a wonderful day and so forth …

    May 25th, 2007 at 10:10 am

    Hi Allison!

Well it’s been a week since “Phantom” aired and with the passing of time my rationality has returned… I’m still a huge Chloe fan, and a little embarrassed and perplexed as to why I got so upset over a fictional character “dying,” but it helps to know there are other people all around the world who have the same screwed up priorities as me. ;) Kristen especially made a hilarious comment (#92), “just hope Lex doesn’t get a hold of her with a big pile of onions,” that made me feel better and silly all at the same time.

I’m betting Chloe will be back. If she’s not, I’ll miss visiting her once a week. I read in an interview that Al Gough once said Chloe was his favorite character. That comforts me. At the same time, though, I had a poetry teacher in college who said that great writing sometimes comes at the cost of “murdering your darlings,” those clever, beautiful parts of a piece that you love, but no longer fit into the piece as a whole. I hope Al and Miles aren’t in the process of murdering their darlings…I can’t imagine Smallville without Chloe. (And not to get off the subject, but that same teacher also gave me a “B” in the class and it really offended me! I mean, how can anyone grade poetry?! It’s so personal. There are no rules in poetry… it can be whatever you want it to be. You either connect with a piece of poetry or you don’t…but how can anyone truly grade another person’s poetry? The very thought of it irritates me. So forget that “murdering your darlings” comment…what did she know anyways? :) But I digress…)

I rewatched the scene where you find Lois in the tunnel and I really do want to congratulate you on your performance. And I mean that from the depths of my being. What an achievement. If you ever have to audition for any roles in the future, you should just show them a clip of that scene and say “Watch this and call my agent later and maybe I’ll decide to be a part of your project…with all these offers, I can only fit so much into my schedule.” :) I get the feeling you’re a perfectionist and that you can be very hard on yourself (especially since you once referred to being a “weapon against yourself” sometimes in one of your blogs), but you should be really, REALLY proud of that scene. I imagine that crying and profound grief would have to be one of the hardest things for an actor to portray genuinely…and you pulled it off beautifully.

One of the reasons I felt embarrassed about being so upset over Chloe–other than being a 32 year-old guy–is that I work on an ambulance as an EMT. The things I’ve seen firsthand, the families broken, the lives lost or destroyed…it tends to give you a unique perspective about what’s really important in life. It’s not uncommon for people in EMS to develop a pretty thick skin, and your scene with Erica moved me. It also reminded me of a specific call I was on once as a relief worker in Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina.

We got called lights and sirens to a car wreck. When we arrived, we found a semi had rammed a pick-up truck that then ricocheted into a small sedan. Amazingly, the drivers of all the vehicles were fine. The front-seat passenger of the sedan was not, however. She was dead when we arrived (don‘t worry, though, we revived her later en route to the hospital!). Upon impact, a steel ladder had flown from the trunk of the sedan through the back seat, THROUGH the passenger seat and hit this woman square on the upper back just below her shoulder blades. Her husband, a 6’6” guy who looked like he weighed 250 pounds and used to play center for the Knicks back when that was tall, was just completely distraught and out of his mind with grief. He couldn’t find the strength to stand. He just wailed…all the while being held up and supported by this young girl in green National Guard fatigues who couldn’t have been more than 5’5” tall and 145 pounds. He just leaned on her and she held him as he sobbed.

Allison, the way you said “Come on!” as you held Erica in your arms after saying “You’re the strongest girl I know..” was the exact timbre of this man’s pain, desperation, panic, fear and agony. With two words you took me back to Hurricane Katrina and the most profound grief I have ever witnessed.
    Truly, truly amazing work.

It makes me wonder, though, Allison… where did that come from? I know that’s a really private question and I don’t expect an answer, nor do I really need one, but I hope that outpouring of emotion came from a big compassionate heart and not from personal experience. I would hate to think that something that painful happened in your life for you to draw from. I hope you never have to feel that kind of pain.

Anyways…sorry this was so long. I feel guilty about writing so much…after all, this is your blog not mine! I just wanted to let you know how much your performance meant to me and undoubtedly to others, as well.

Hi Allison, I have to confess that, at the first moment, I clicked on the link with the intention of seeing one more of your public appearances; it was just the feeling of knowing how you are. I didn’t read the text which said that you were going to sing. When the video started loading I realized about what it was going to be shown; I thought, surely she made something funny, or maybe she sang a tiny quarter of a song’s verse. I didn’t thought what was going to happen next.

Your melody entered into my mind and moved my soul. Was an amazing experience, I never thought before that it could be in that way. You are really wonderful, you sing like an angel, your voice is so tender and peaceful at the same time, it shake’s and moves whichever, you took me to another dimension.

It’s so nice, so tender, and so perfect; you are, I don’t know, I think I can not express that on paper. I feel really impressed. If you would be a singer, I’d bought all of your albums on any version you make. Yeah, great is not a word to define this. I will have to make a new one. If I had been there, I would have clapped as loud as I could in order to express this emotion.

If you would be a singer I imagine thousands of candle lights and soul’s accompanying your voice on every vowel you pronounce.

Now I know things won’t be the same, for me you are more than the best actress I’ve ever seen on my life.

Please, take care on your hiatus, you are unique and invaluable.

    Bye

I’m so glad that you had so much fun in London. It’s nice to hear about how much you actually enjoy your job. Monday I will be flying to Paris and staying in France for 10 days on a school trip (my first time ever leaving the U.S.–I’m thrilled!). We talked about going to London for a day, but it all depends on how much time we have and whether or not we can fit that in the schedule.

I must say you have an amazing voice! You should really think about recording an album.

Also, I wanted to thank you for creating such a personal site with your fans. Your words have truly helped me with some confusing times in my life, so thank you.

    Hello Ms. Mack…

I now refer to you as “Ms. Mack” instead of “Allison” because certain evidence has come into my possession that makes me feel as if I never knew you at all!

What I’m referring to, obviously, is an interview you once gave in which you stated that you like pineapple on your pizza.

Now, Ms. Mack, as I’m sure you’re aware…there are two kinds of people in this world: those who enjoy pineapple on their pizza, and the rest of us who know that it is an abomination! Putting any kind of fruit topping whatsoever on a pizza borders on obscenity.

I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever be able to look at you in the same light of adoration I once did. Only time will tell…

Until then, I hope all is well and that one day you’ll come to your senses. If not, at least we’ll always have that Chuck E. Cheese in Paris back in the days when you gave pepperoni and other legitimate toppings the respect they so justly deserved.

I think it is awesome you got to China. And most recently England. When I was in Ireland, Smallville was just starting to hit the TV over there and I was getting many people hooked on it, as I am a huge fan of the show.

And hearing and seeing some of your charity work just really drives home the point what a great heart you have. You are an incredible young lady. I hope the Smallville train continues to roll on and I look forward to hearing about more of your work.

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay in London. Its a pity you weren’t there now. The weather is so much nicer now, its really warm. I think its pretty amazing that nearly everybody from smallville has a personal website for the fans to chat, and so on. You’ll have to persuade Kristin to start her website soon. Its really nice to see a different side to you (and other actors that I respect). If you didn’t have this forum, then you only see what is on screen. I guess all actors must show parts of their “real” personalities in their roles, but its nice to see what our favourite actors are like offscreen. I read that you and Kristin are big Woody Allen fans, it must be really amazing working with John Glover and finding out what is was like to work on Annie Hall. I see you like travelling, (who doesn’t?) so you may be interested to know that there is a relatively new seres of penguin books on this theme. Its about 20 books, with famous historical travel “stories” including those of Captain James Cook, Mark Twain, Anton Chekhov, Ernest Shackleton and George Orwell. If you’re interested at all, I could send you the ISBN. Anyway, have a great summer, and I can’t wait to see the new series in September.
    Take care

    Kombai,

I got tired of reading school stuff, so I thought let me relax and watch some smallville, one thing let to the other and I ended up here. I was searchin for Chloe and found Allison Mack…
Well I have to say this… from what I just read I think that Allison Mack is a great person I like her way of thinking more than Chloe`s… There are a lot of people in this World who don`t really pay much attention to what is going on in the World around them but they just want to live their life as confortable as possible…witch makes me sad for they ignore the other people that also exist in this World. An eye for an eye will make the World go blind… I always have this sentence as support when I feel like not turning the other cheek… It`s really nice to know that there are more people of my age who thinks about this stuff.. I must say I didn`t expect that of you… By reading all these things on this site I get the impression that you are a girl whose wisdom will keep increasing. Oh and and dance me to the end of love is now, to me associeted to a smart person! That`s good music….I wish you lots of wisdom in your life, be positive and make things happen…don`t act without thinking and do not think without acting…experience is something we all need in order to keep advancing in life.
I myself come originally from the carribean currently studing in Holland ( And ofcourse travelling a lot ) looking for more and more wisdom to make a differance in this World even if it`s a small one. This site is cool cause it only fortefies my way of thinking so, I`d like to thank all those people who are working at this site, keep up the good work, you guys are great.
And ofcourse you too Ms. Mack

It is time for me to go dive once more into the books it`s already 12:21 AM and exam is on friday sooooo I`ll check the site out afterwards hehehe
If you ever go to Germany,
Holland is just next door pay us a visit

p.s. I`m sorry about all the bad english… hahaha But puzzelin is always fun :D
And at the beginning KOMBAI, it means hello ( guten dag hehe )
    It`s my mother language.

    bye bye, dooeegggg

I think you’re arguably one of the best actors, and characters, on the show. It’s nice to see you blogging and being more…human. Dunno if you wrote the software for this site yourself. Corny, I know, but I can’t help it. I also had no idea that you were a singer…and a beautiful one. I mean, aside from that brief karaoke scene with Erica Durance, of course, but let’s face it, Joan Jett doesn’t do much for showing off the vocal range. And speaking of the singing, look at you getting all high-tech on your blogs. You just started this thing not too long ago and here you are posting up videos to go with your comments. Pretty impressive, Allison. Well, I’m going to take off, but I just wanted to say I was still here and still reading. I’m glad there are people like you out there, I truly am. I’m honoured to be a fan, really. Hey, if you ever find the time, head over to myspace.com/danielpulliam and listen a song of mine called “Your Everything”. I think the end might be cut off, but that’s okay. If you like it, I’d be happy to send the whole thing to you. Allison Mack is amazing as Chloe Sullivan as are the other actors on the show! I hope it keeps going at least another season! I’m glad Allison is sharing her adventures with us on this site!

I have to say I wish Clark and Chloe would hook up on the show even though I know it’s not meant to be according to the Superman mythology. Still, they’re so great together and I’m always moved and often amused by their relationship. In amused, I mean Chloe is often the comic relief in a lot of intense situations, and that is needed in many of the dark, serious episodes!

So, Allison, keep up the great work and have a wonderful summer! I’m already greatly anticipating Season 7! By the way, I just read the writers are going to bring in Kara, Clark’s cousin, as Supergirl in Season 7. That ought to be interesting!

    Ciao!

This project you’ve embarked on, sharing your introspective thoughts and getting everyone into a dialog about personal growth and change is such a tremendous inspiration. You are reaching people not only through your acting but now on a totally different and more widespread level. Thank you for sharing this part of yourself with us, getting so many people thinking about themselves and their own behaviors, and for inspiring me to share these thoughts with the people close to me. With everyone’s help I know we can make a positive change in the world.

    Thanks for being you.

    Hi Allison
I hope your knee is getting better! And I must say your singing is quite good! I’m not surprised that you have the talent.
I sing myself but only when no one else can hear it. I may need an infusion of courage. I look forward to Smallville this season and please tell the rest of the cast that you all do a great job.
    Thanks, Todd

Damn people love you. Not bad you should do singing as well. Considering I don’t know to much about you I’m guessing you probably were nervious. Oh and ignore any grammar errors I’m in high school and suck at the english class. Oh well you can only do things to the best of your somtimes lazy ability. I was refering to myself you seem to be more of a person who is affaid to take risks but you sure as hell aren’t lazy. One thing I know is a working actor or actress can’t be lazy. I’m sorry if I missed the point of this blog I just skimed. However I know you’ll do fine with your episode of Smallville. Your a natural.

Thanks to my DVR gismo I was finally able to catch up on the last few years of Smallville in a matter of a few weeks!! You are truly an exceptional actress!! And now I can hear and see that your other musical talents are ready to emerge. Well I hope you put me on the short list of music producers you may consider to help you out on your next musical journey. I would consider it quite the honor. When you get a moment you can check me out at http://www.myspace.com/kevinflournoy. All the Best.

Miss Mack I must say you have a wonderful voice. If your acting career ever goes south (which I doubt will ever happen! You’re superb!) a singing career is definitely on the cards!

Have you ever recorded any material or plan to do so?
