memories
Posted by Allison Mack | Filed under Blog
This is a picture from the play I did in Prague.

I have been cutting together a couple of videos, as you know from a few entries ago, and it is such an awesome experience re-visiting the memories we captured on the trip. Images and videos are such an incredible invention. Bringing up ideas and lessons learned that deepen as time goes on. It is so to nice remind yourself of a realistic point of view of the experience you had. Whether good or bad, you can’t argue with cold hard memories burned on film and celluloid!
I can’t wait to post my projects! Yay learning new skills!

June 9th, 2009 at 9:14 amHi Allison,
Pictures and videos are great. Whatsoever, I’ve learnt that there are things in life one should just try to keep in mind. A saw a few spectacular things during the last few weeks and I wanted to take some photographs in order to keep those things forever… but when my camera was ready to take the pictures I though that those things are just too beautiful for making some images. Weird, I know, but I know from earlier experiences that it is possible to keep such things in mind without technique. On the other hand… if we don’t make photos or videos, we might lose something forever. Hence, I’m so glad for all those pictures and videos I’ve ever made.

June 9th, 2009 at 9:32 amI’m one of those people who, if I’ve got a camera to hand, will use it. Failing that, I’ll use the camera on my phone, ancient as it is… I drive my friends to distraction I think.
What I can’t understand is why people take photos but, so often these days, just keep them on the computer and never get them developed/printed. I’m thinking through my friends’ homes and can’t recall any of them having photos of friends and family that they’ve taken themselves and had developed. Surely the point of photos is that you can look at them? Yeah, okay, you can store them on a computer or disc and they don’t take up as much space, but if you can’t just happen across them – you have to dig them out. You can’t walk past them and have them trigger memories in you, rather memories trigger the thought of the photos – and then why dig them out? You’ve already remembered…

I couldnt agree more. There is something so amazing about the ability to actually capture those moments we treasure and be able to look back on them and remember the good times.
I love taking photos, of anything of everything — viewing life through the lens allows you to look and find the beauty in everything around and then capture that beauty to share with others.
wow, Prague looks so beautiful. I have never really been outside the US (except for Canada) but hope to travel around Europe within the next 2 years with my best friends and discover all the beauty it has to offer.
My camera goes everywhere with me because you never know what moment in life you will want to capture next.

June 9th, 2009 at 2:02 pmI love taking photographs. My friends tease me saying that I shouldn’t have a camera cause once I do I won’t put it down! But I looove taking pictures, especially when it involves people I love. Cause I think photography is a way to freeze time, freeze a moment in life. And I love that! I guess to me, it feels like I’ve captured that moment forever!
Here’s a question for everyone…
Do you guys like being in front or behind the camera??
Can’t wait for you to post your project!

June 9th, 2009 at 6:54 pmHi Allison.
I agree with you.
A picture is worth a thousand wordsOur photographic memory playing tricks us.
I remember when we bought our house, between our first and second visit, I had images of the house that was completely different from reality. It was really much greater.
Visions pass but the pictures remain.
Although people are still on a photo, they are alive. The expressions on their faces tell us about their states of mind. From a photo, you can imagine and create more stories.
The picture of Prague is a good example.
The video allows us to assess the actions and improve the interpretation. Filming the things we like is to strengthen our memory.
It’s great that you film yours projects, which allows a greater number of people to see them.
The technology allows us to monitor the achievements of people overflowing creativity no matter where we live.
I can’t wait to have news about your new projects.
Good night.Claude.

I just got “You” in the mail today, my mom watched it with me tonight when I got home from work, I really enjoyed it
I think it made my mom a little sad…and confused (she has trouble with the whole time jumping thing) but she really liked it too. It’s weird how sometimes things that are turn out to be happy make other people sad, but I guess that’s just where we are right now in my family. We all want things to turn out alright, especially in regards to the people we care about most (our family) but sometimes that just doesn’t happen, or it doesn’t happen quick enough — I hope that in the end the lesson is that eventually things will work themselves out, at least that’s the message I’ve recieved, she may be a little to far gone for that right now.
Thank you for the break from the drama in our lives, and for giving me a little bit of happiness when I got home from work, lol, I was surprised how quickly that movie arrived!

June 10th, 2009 at 12:12 pmI think each of us is so very lucky to live in a century that allows each of us to record pictures of past events with which to remind us of past events/people and places we experience!
Photos remind us and rekindle memories and emotions…unfortunately even our fashion sense…just wait and see – give or take a couple of decades..and then wait a couple more..and hey presto we’ll all back in fashion again!Good luck with the editing!
